emodel.com, Options Talent Group
To Whom It May Concern:
I was at the mall today, and a scout from Options
Talent Group gave me their business card,
and asked me to call back for an interview.
I went to their website, and they seem to be legitimate.
Will it be a good idea for me to arrange the interview
with them?
Thanks,
L.Y.
Hi L.,
Options Talent Group used to be called emodel.com.
(It is a very recent name change.) emodel.com has
received many complaints, because they take money (as
much as $500), but they don’t guarantee results.
Respected modeling agencies don’t work like that.
They don’t ask for any money, they only get paid
after you get work, not before.
Usually what happens is Options Talent will
give you their business card at a mall, or somewhere
like that, and ask you to go to an interview or an open
call. When you go for an interview, they will offer the
sales pitch. Then they will ask for your money.
It is probably not a good idea to get involved with Options
Talent Group. There are too many stories on
Modeling Scams of people who learned about emodel.com (now
called Options Talent Group) and felt
they ask for too much money, and cannot be trusted.
If Options Talent Group is going to
do things differently, it’s best to take a wait-and-see
approach. Right now it’s just too early to tell
if they can be trusted with your time and money. I suggest
you wait a while until they have a good reputation. emodel probably
had the worst reputation of any modeling company!
Sincerely,
