Modeling Scams

emodel.com, Options Talent Group

To Whom It May Concern:

Have you heard any reports about Options Talent Group, apparently formerly eModel.com, operating in Tennessee?

I know someone who has been taken in by them in Nashville, and wondered if you have heard about others.

Also, if anyone has initiated any action with the state Consumer Protection Agency, or Better Business Bureau, or anyone else?

Thanks,

A.M.

Hi A.,

Funny you should ask about Options Talent. I was sent an email yesterday by a woman who had been scammed by emodel.com, who forwarded a message from another girl who believes she was scammed by Options Talent.

See this page, which includes her message, with a few editorial comments:

emodel.com, Options Talent, and Sector Communications

To answer your question, it does not look as if anyone has taken any legal action against either emodel.com or Options Talent. However, the New York Post reported not long ago that The Models Guild said it plans to contact the Attorney General of Florida, because there have been so many complaints.

The Better Business Bureau has various files in different cities on emodel.com. These can be checked online.

Since Options Talent appears to be quite new (the website was registered less than two months ago, in December 2001), the BBB may not yet have any information about Options Talent, in your state, or any state.

There is a long emodel.com Fraud Investigation Report, and if the conduct of Options Talent is very similar, Options Talent could certainly be another modeling scam.

It is more than likely the case that Sector Communications, the owner of emodel.com and Options Talent, will continue to make sure the practices of emodel.com are used for Options Talent, because they made a lot of money, and Sector Communications is presumably only interested in making money. It does not look as if they have any background in the modeling industry whatsoever.

Why buy a company if what it does has no relationship to what you have done or are doing, unless, as I said, it makes money?

Sincerely,

Redacted Info
